Many people are not aware that sealing your granite is necessary in order to keep it in good condition.

How Often Should You Seal Your Granite Countertops?

Once you learn that you need to seal your granite countertops in order to keep them well maintained and looking great, the next question you ask will naturally be “how often”?

The frequency at which you seal your granite countertops will depend on the way that you use them.

If you don’t do a lot of cooking and use your countertops infrequently then you won’t need to have them sealed as often – perhaps once every 18 months.

On the other hand, if you are a passionate chef who enjoys cooking and you use your countertops a lot then you will want to seal them at least once a year.

If you cook with lots of spices, spill a lot of acidic things on your countertop like tomato sauce, or have kids who spill things that easily stain like grape juice, then you will want to seal your countertops even more frequently – perhaps twice a year, or every 6 months.

If water no longer forms beads on your countertop then it is an indication that it is time to seal the granite.

Sealing your kitchen countertops is an easy process. You can let us seal your granite for you or you can do it yourself by buying a sealer at an upscale hardware store.

Simply follow the directions and apply the sealant to a clean, dry countertop and that’s it! Sealing granite countertops has never been easier.
