Tips To Save On Your Bathroom Renovation
We’re proudly family owned and operated since 2002. And over the years, we’ve transformed countless bathrooms in the GTA. So we’ve seen a thing or two, and we thought we’d share some money saving tips with you!
Tip #1: Don’t tile every square inch.
Mosaic tiles are lovely and will add an elegant touch to your bathroom, but purchasing that tile, and having a contractor cut and install it can quickly eat up your budget.
Instead, decide where tiles will have the biggest impact – will they look better on the floor, on the wall or inside the shower stall?
Or, use new tiles alongside older or less expensive tiles. You won’t need to use as many newer/more expensive tiles and they’ll also stand out and be noticed!
Tip #2: Get bathroom countertops that last.
We believe we have the perfect solution for you with this one, in our Earthstone products. They’re non-porous, and maintenance free – meaning you never need to invest in sealing or polishing.
Tip #3: Focusing on faucets and fixtures can make a big impact.
Small details like light fixtures, faucets, towel racks, and drawer handles can have a big impact on the look and feel of your bathroom design.
The best part is that you don’t have to spend a fortune on these items.
As a bonus, our talented design team can guide you through some of the most affordable and attractive options available in the GTA.
Tip #4: Don’t replace – just reface!
Let’s say you want to update cabinets. Completely rip out and replace (which is time-consuming and expensive), or simply reface them (if they’re structurally sound) with bathroom refacing.
In a nutshell, here’s how refacing works:
For the cabinets – bathroom cabinet refacing works pretty much the same way as kitchen cabinet refacing does:
- Doors, handles, and hinges are removed
- Cabinet surfaces are prepped for refacing
- Veneer or paint is applied to the surfaces
- Coverings are trimmed and installed for a perfect fit
- New doors, handles, and hinges are installed
Refacing is just as effective as a total demolition and rebuild project, at a fraction of the cost.
Tip #5: Start with a plan.
Before you tackle any part of your bathroom project, you need to have a plan. Partnering with a designer can help bring that plan to life. The bathroom renovation will have a better chance of being done on time and on budget with a professional designer.
